For the EVOLVE Apartments in Surrey, British Columbia, we delivered a high-end wayfinding system featuring 110 custom door signs, each masterfully crafted with 1.5cm stainless steel returns and 2mm deep etching filled with premium silver oil.

Highlight：More Than Just a Sign—It's "Architectural Jewelry"

For the EVOLVE luxury apartment project in Canada, we delivered 110 custom-made door signs. The client didn't want flat, boring plaques. They wanted dimension. We used 1.5cm thick stainless steel with a high-end matte black finish. This "Black & Silver" combo acts like a perfectly tailored suit for the apartment hallways—sleek, professional, and timeless.

Challenge: How to Mount Metal on Hollow Drywall?

At the start of the project, the client had a major concern: the interior walls were all hollow drywall (gypsum board).

Traditional metal signs usually require drilling and bolts. However, drilling into hollow walls can be messy, and bolts often come loose over time. For a high-end building like EVOLVE, 110 loose or crooked signs would be a disaster for the brand's image.

Solution: Three "Detail-Obsessed" Fixes by LC Sign

1. The Beauty of 2mm Depth

Most door signs have numbers that are just printed or flat. For EVOLVE, we etched the numbers 2mm deep into the stainless steel surface and filled them with bright silver paint. This creates a "3D relief" effect. When the hallway lights hit the matte black surface, the silver numbers pop with a premium, expensive look.

2. The "Sandwich" Reinforcement

To make sure these 1.5cm thick metal signs stay put, we didn't leave them hollow. We filled the back with a flat PVC core. This acts like a "spine" for the sign, making it structurally stronger and providing a perfectly flat surface for the adhesive to grab onto.

3. "Tool-Free" Fast Installation

To protect the hollow walls, we ditched the bolts. Before shipping, we pre-applied multiple strips of 3M Industrial High-Bond Tape to the back of every sign.

The installation team simply had to peel, add a bit of silicone, and press it onto the wall. No drills, no holes, and no wall damage. One person was able to install all 110 signs quickly and perfectly.
